Amna Ilyas celebrated the return of Basant with a vibrant Instagram post from Lahore, as the historic spring festival made a notable comeback in 2026 after years of restrictions. The series of photos captured the lively atmosphere of the Walled City, where rooftops were filled with kites, music, and joyous celebrations.
The event, titled Phir Aai Basant, brought together artists, cultural figures, and residents from across the city. Amna embraced the festive spirit in a striking hot pink traditional ensemble, paired with bold silver ethnic jewellery that reflected the classic Basant colour palette.

Several images showcased Amna flying kites, posing against colorful backdrops featuring the iconic Badshahi Mosque, and enjoying the celebrations alongside fellow celebrities. A high-angle shot of the Walled City highlighted crowded streets, vendors, and rooftop gatherings, while décor featured traditional charpais, hundreds of hanging kites, and playful truck-art-inspired elements, including a red silk pillow embroidered with a humorous Punjabi rhyme.

In her caption, Amna reflected on the cultural significance of the festival: “Basant reminded me who we are. A country of colour, laughter, shared food, flying kites, and open hearts.” She added that she attended the event at the invitation of the Punjab government, noting how it brought together people from all walks of life and rekindled a sense of collective joy.

Amna Ilyas began her career as a fashion model before transitioning into acting, earning acclaim for projects such as Zinda Bhaag, Baaji, and Good Morning Karachi. Through her Basant post, she highlighted not only the festival’s revival but also the rich cultural heritage and communal spirit that define Pakistan’s spring celebrations.
