Komal Aziz Says Family Expected Her to Be in a Scandal After Joining Showbiz

Pakistani actress and entrepreneur Komal Aziz Khan has opened up about her experiences in the entertainment industry, revealing that even her own family once believed she would end up in a scandal after joining showbiz.

Speaking during an appearance on Subh Ka Samaa, Komal shared that her decision to pursue acting was met with skepticism, particularly from those closest to her. “Everyone thought I’d end up in a scandal, but that never happened,” she said with a smile, adding that her time in the industry remained free of controversy.

The actress emphasized that she never faced trolling, misconduct, or exploitation during her acting career, countering the widespread misconception that women in showbiz routinely face moral or professional challenges.

Komal explained that her family’s concerns were rooted in societal stereotypes about women in the entertainment industry. “There’s this general assumption that if a woman joins showbiz, something negative will happen,” she noted. “But I’ve always conducted myself with dignity, and nothing like that ever occurred.”

Reflecting on her decision to step away from acting, Komal reiterated that career longevity for women in the field is often limited. She shared that roles for actresses tend to diminish with age, as casting decisions frequently prioritize appearance.

“In this field, women have less time. After a certain age, roles either change or stop coming altogether,” she said. However, Komal clarified that she hasn’t permanently closed the door on acting, adding, “It’s not that I’ll never act again — anything can happen in the future.”

Transitioning from showbiz to entrepreneurship, Komal now runs her own business — a shift that, according to her, came with unexpected challenges. Surprisingly, she revealed that business, not showbiz, exposed her to criticism and trolling.

She recounted an incident where several female employees resigned from her company without notice and later launched a social media campaign against her when she refused to release pending payments. “They even made fake accounts on LinkedIn to defame me,” Komal alleged, calling it ironic that she faced backlash in business despite having a spotless reputation in acting.

Comparing her two professions, Komal admitted that acting pays better, but business offers greater personal growth. “When I hire models for my brand’s photoshoots, I realize how well the entertainment industry compensates talent,” she said.

From a beloved actress to a self-made entrepreneur, Komal Aziz’s journey reflects the evolving roles of women in Pakistan’s creative and business industries. While showbiz never brought her scandal, her entrepreneurial path has tested her patience and resilience — showing that challenges exist in every field, just in different forms.
