Azekah Daniel took to Twitter over the weekend to describe her terrible experience at a recent show, but she didn’t mention the show. She emphasized that comedians should be able to tell jokes without offending anyone, writing;
“So today I walked out of a show because some comedians clearly don’t understand that jokes are meant to entertain and not offend.” As I left the set full of people, tears came down my face. “Jokes are meant to make people laugh, not make them feel bad.
The comment section was quickly flooded with support and condolences for the Dunk actor. While sympathizing with Daniel, one fan had a message for shows that will do anything for ratings. “Stop disrespecting and degrading others in the name of comedy in order to boost your show’s ratings.” “It’s sad to hear that someone was so degraded that they had to leave the show midway,” they wrote. Others urged Daniel to “spill the show’s name” and publicly shame the comedian.
