Actor Ali Ansari has come forward in support of television host Nadia Khan after she faced criticism and trolling on social media over remarks she made about a scene featuring popular actress Sajal Aly.
The controversy was discussed during a morning show hosted by Zohaib Hassan, where Nadia and Ali Ansari addressed the reaction to her comments and explained the context behind the discussion.
During the conversation, Zohaib Hassan noted that experienced figures from Pakistan’s entertainment industry can face strong reactions online when they offer opinions about acting, direction, editing or other technical aspects of television productions.
He pointed out that Nadia Khan’s comments had been interpreted by some viewers as criticism of Sajal Aly’s acting, while the original discussion was focused more specifically on how the scene had been executed.
Ali Ansari said he has a close relationship with both women. Sajal Aly is his sister-in-law, while he has known Nadia Khan for a long time.
Speaking in Nadia’s defense, Ali described her as a lively and spontaneous person who often expresses her views openly during conversations. He suggested that her comments about the scene were part of a broader discussion and were not intended as a personal attack against Sajal.
Ali also emphasized that opinions about television performances and production choices are subjective. According to him, viewers, actors, hosts and industry professionals can have different interpretations of the same scene.
He further discussed the nature of online criticism, saying that receiving hate does not necessarily mean someone has done something wrong. His comments appeared to address the intense social media reaction that followed Nadia’s remarks.
Nadia Khan subsequently clarified what she meant by her original comments. She stressed that she was not questioning Sajal Aly’s acting ability or talent.
Instead, Nadia said her observation concerned the technical execution of the particular scene, especially its editing and audio.
According to Nadia, the heavy breathing used in the scene did not appear properly synchronized with Sajal Aly’s movements and the pace of the visuals. She explained that her criticism was directed toward the technical choices behind the scene rather than Sajal’s performance.
Nadia also pointed out that she has praised Sajal Aly and her work on several occasions. She said she has given the actress strong ratings whenever she believed they were deserved.
The clarification comes after social media users interpreted the original remarks differently, highlighting how discussions about celebrities can quickly become controversial when short clips circulate without their full context.
Ali Ansari also criticized the way some social media pages present entertainment controversies.
