Nora Fatehi Responds to Controversy Over ‘Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke’ Song

Bollywood actress and dancer Nora Fatehi has addressed the controversy surrounding her recent song “Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke” from the upcoming film D: The Devil, starring Sanjay Dutt. The song, released on YouTube, sparked criticism online due to its lyrics, which many viewers deemed inappropriate.

Fatehi clarified that the explicit Hindi version of the song was produced without her knowledge or consent. She also revealed that an AI-generated image of herself alongside Sanjay Dutt was used in promotional material, again without her permission.

In a video statement, Nora explained that she had recorded the song three years ago in Canada and had not found any objectionable content at that time. She mentioned that while on set, the director explained the song’s meaning, but she was unaware of the alterations made in the Hindi version.

When she first viewed the Hindi release, Fatehi raised concerns about possible public backlash, which were reportedly ignored. As a result, she chose to distance herself from the project and refused to promote it.

“I do not want anyone to think that I support this song. I am grateful to fans that, because of their reaction, the filmmakers had to remove the video,” she said, urging supporters not to share the clip further to avoid giving it unnecessary attention.

This incident highlights ongoing concerns in the entertainment industry regarding creative consent and the unauthorized use of AI-generated content in promotional campaigns. Fatehi’s proactive response reflects her commitment to maintaining professional and ethical standards in her work.
