Indian actor Ali Fazal is set to showcase a softer, romantic side in the upcoming anthology Lust Stories 3, describing the role as a refreshing departure from the intense characters he has portrayed in recent years.
According to The Times of India, Fazal will appear in a romantic, emotionally layered story opposite Radhikka Madan. The segment is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Shakun Batra, known for his nuanced storytelling and ability to explore complex human relationships.
Fazal shared that the project arrived at a time when he was seeking something emotionally honest. He described playing a lover boy again as liberating, especially because the character is flawed, sensitive, and emotionally aware within a modern context. This marks a contrast to his widely recognized intense roles, such as Guddu Bhaiya in the hit series Mirzapur, where he explored darker and more intense facets of human behavior.

Speaking about his collaboration with Batra, Fazal noted that the director observes human behaviour closely and allows scenes to unfold naturally rather than forcing dramatic moments, giving actors the space to explore their characters fully.
Outside of screen projects, Fazal has returned to his theatre roots. He recently presented the stage play Mahanagar Jugnu, written and directed by Amitosh Nagpal, at the Le’ Chakallas Fringe Festival. The play explored urban life through a poetic and intimate narrative, reflecting Fazal’s ongoing commitment to theatre.

Describing his theatre involvement as a “full-circle moment,” Fazal emphasized that stage work remains close to his heart, providing an opportunity to explore artistic expression in ways different from film and television.
With Lust Stories 3, audiences can expect to see a new dimension of Ali Fazal—one that balances romance, vulnerability, and emotional honesty—showcasing the actor’s versatility across mediums.
