Sangeeta Claims She Replaced Naeema Butt From Upcoming Film Over Casting Dispute

Veteran Pakistani actor and filmmaker Sangeeta has revealed that she decided to remove actor Naeema Butt from her upcoming film following disagreements over casting choices. The filmmaker said the decision was taken after creative differences emerged between the two regarding the selection of other actors for the project.

Speaking in a recent interview, Sangeeta said she had initially chosen Naeema Butt for the role but later decided to move forward with a different cast. The veteran director claimed that the disagreement began when Naeema allegedly started suggesting which actors should be selected to play opposite her character.

Sangeeta stated that she did not agree with these suggestions and chose to maintain her authority over casting decisions as the director of the project. She described the situation as a creative disagreement and said she ultimately decided to end their professional collaboration.

The filmmaker further claimed that she apologized to Naeema Butt, requested the return of the advance payment, and that the amount was refunded. According to Sangeeta, both sides ended the matter professionally after the casting change.

Reflecting on her long career in Pakistan’s entertainment industry, Sangeeta said she has spent nearly five decades working in films and television. She added that during her own acting career, she never displayed such behavior on sets and always respected the creative process.

The veteran artist emphasized that maintaining discipline and professionalism is important in the entertainment industry. She said that while the role was an important opportunity, creative differences led her to make the decision to recast the character.

Naeema Butt, who gained recognition for her performance in the popular drama Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, has not publicly responded to Sangeeta’s comments so far. The actor has continued to remain active in Pakistan’s television industry, where she has built a growing fan following through her performances.

Sangeeta remains one of Pakistan’s well-known entertainment personalities, with a career spanning acting, directing, and filmmaking. Over the years, she has contributed to both cinema and television projects and is currently involved in multiple productions.

The filmmaker is currently directing the film Mukho, which features actors including Saima, Moammar Rana, Meera, and Layla. She is also working on the television drama Bhulley Shah, continuing her involvement in Pakistan’s evolving entertainment landscape.

The reported casting dispute has attracted attention among entertainment circles, as disagreements between actors and filmmakers over creative decisions often become a topic of discussion within the industry. However, without a response from Naeema Butt, the matter remains based on Sangeeta’s account of the events.

The situation highlights the importance of collaboration and communication between directors and actors during the production process. In an industry where creative decisions shape the success of a project, maintaining a balance between artistic input and directorial vision remains a key challenge.
