He wrote, “First trip with Siera was 70% managing a tiny human, 20% looking for snacks, 10% actually seeing China. She made friends with strangers, judged our parenting decisions in public, and somehow still had us wrapped around her tiny jet-lagged fingers the entire time.”
The family adventure highlighted the unpredictable nature of traveling with a young child. Between missed naps and public parenting struggles, Siera’s playful energy and curiosity made the trip both exhausting and rewarding. Despite the challenges, Usman emphasized the “little beautiful moments” that made the journey special.
Their itinerary showcased the best of both modern and historical China, from the thrills of Universal Studios Beijing to the grandeur of the Forbidden City and the scenic beauty of the Summer Palace.
