SRK Reflects on Personal Struggles
Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan, known for his candid insights, shared an emotional connection to his voice role as Mufasa in Mufasa: The Lion King. Speaking in a video released by Walt Disney India, the star referred to himself as a “semi-orphan,” linking his real-life experiences to the orphaned cub-turned-king’s journey.
A Personal Connection to Loss
“I lost my parents at a young age, so technically, I’m a semi-orphan,” Khan revealed. He went on to compare his life to Mufasa’s story, saying, “It’s a narrative about facing adversity, growing despite challenges, and taking on leadership.”
Bollywood’s Outsider King
Khan, often celebrated as Bollywood’s self-made superstar, also highlighted his status as an industry outsider. “No one from my family was in the film industry. I came from Delhi to Mumbai with no connections, which makes me relate deeply to the outsider theme of the film.”
Family Joins the Adventure
This project is even more special as Khan’s sons, Aryan and AbRam, have contributed their voices to the film. Aryan reprises his role as Simba, while the youngest, AbRam, gives life to young Mufasa, adding a personal touch to this cinematic venture.
A Spectacular Return to the Screen
Scheduled for a December 20 release, Mufasa: The Lion King, directed by Barry Jenkins, offers fans a blend of nostalgia and innovation, with SRK’s voice performance standing out as a highlight.
