The Indian entertainment industry is in mourning following the sudden death of actress and model Shefali Jariwala, who passed away at the age of 42.
Best known for her breakout role in the 2002 hit music video Kaanta Laga, Jariwala became a pop culture icon in India. Her popularity was further cemented through her participation in Bigg Boss 13, where she was praised for her dignified presence and resilient spirit.
According to reports from Indian media, Jariwala was rushed to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Andheri, Mumbai, by her husband Parag Tyagi and three others. However, she was declared dead upon arrival.
A staff member confirmed, “She was already gone when they brought her here.” Dr. Sushant from Bellevue later verified her death and stated that her body had been transferred to Cooper Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The cause of death is yet to be officially released, though cardiac arrest has been widely speculated.
Shefali’s untimely death has sent shockwaves through the entertainment world. Tributes have flooded social media, with fans, celebrities, and former Bigg Boss contestants expressing sorrow over the loss of someone remembered for both her grace and her grounded demeanor.

In a separate but equally tragic update, Rebekah Del Rio, the American singer who earned global acclaim for her haunting performance of Llorando in Mulholland Drive, passed away at 57. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office confirmed her death, though the cause remains undisclosed.
Del Rio’s iconic appearance in Club Silencio remains one of the most emotionally charged moments in modern cinema. She once described the performance as deeply personal: “I had to produce that same feeling with the vibrato in my throat so the audience could see it.”
