The Dhadak actress is often criticized for being privileged because Karan Johar launched her in Bollywood. Jhanvi Kapoor first appeared in the Hindi adaptation of a Marathi movie Sairat under the banner of Dharma Productions. Since then, the actress has appeared in a couple of more movies but still she is facing the hatred from the people.

According to Hindustan Times, Kapoor has told that many people think she got an easy entry in the industry because she is a daughter of Sridevi and Boney Kapoor. At a time when many newcomers are struggling to get roles, Kapoor was given two major projects by the giant Dharma Productions.

Jhanvi Kapoor said, “I think it comes with the fact that Dharma is such an iconic production house. I have realized whatever people say, the kind of curiosity and reach that Dharma has and the kind of interest it piques in audiences, is unparalleled. Yeah, it has added a certain amount of pressure and also made me a target that is easy to hate.”

She also said, “But I will never, for a moment, regret it because what Dharma and Karan have given me makes me feel so unbelievably lucky and privileged. It’s more than that. If you know Karan and what that production house stands for, more than anything it’s creative decisions and a man’s creative vision that he sticks by. And I have so much respect. More than anything, it’s given me confidence and love and guidance from a maker like Karan,”
