Saba Hameed Reveals Truth Behind Slapping Hiba Bukhari on Fitoor

Veteran Pakistani actress Saba Hameed has finally spoken about the widely discussed scene in which she slapped co-star Hiba Bukhari during the drama serial Fitoor.

With a career spanning nearly four decades, Saba Hameed is considered one of the most respected figures in Pakistan’s television industry. She has delivered memorable performances in dramas such as Family Front, Mere Humsafar, Thakan, Pyarey Afzal, and Ghisi Piti Mohabbat. She was also praised for her role in Manto Nahi Hoon Main and is currently appearing in Ishq.

Speaking on a private comedy television show, Saba Hameed clarified that she normally avoids slapping fellow actors directly, relying on camera angles and acting techniques to make such scenes appear realistic.

However, in the case of Fitoor, the director insisted on a real slap to maintain authenticity. She admitted that she did strike Hiba Bukhari and later apologized, acknowledging that the slap was harder than intended. She explained that when directors demand realism, actors sometimes have little choice but to follow instructions.

Saba emphasized that while such moments are never pleasant, they are occasionally necessary to ensure that a character is portrayed convincingly on screen. Her candid explanation offers insight into the challenges actors face when balancing performance authenticity with on-set safety and etiquette.
