Acclaimed actress Sanam Saeed has revealed that she was seven months pregnant during the filming of her much-anticipated drama serial Main Manto Nahi Hun.
In a recent interview, the star opened up about the challenges she faced while shooting in Lahore, where she spent three weeks carefully managing her pregnancy on set. By working closely with her designer, Sanam used smartly styled sarees and outfits to conceal her baby bump while continuing her professional commitments.
Balancing Motherhood and Acting
Sanam praised her dress designer for being attentive to her needs, making the process manageable during a demanding time. She described the experience as both fulfilling and emotional, as it coincided with her return to television after a seven-year hiatus.
“It wasn’t easy, but I managed to pull it off with determination and focus,” she said, highlighting her dedication to the craft despite the personal challenges.
Star-Studded Cast and Creative Vision
Main Manto Nahi Hun has already gained attention for its powerful storyline by renowned playwright Khalilur Rehman Qamar (KRQ). While Sanam admitted she had initial reservations about the dialogues, she credited director Nadeem Baig for leading the project with sensitivity and balance.
She also appreciated her co-stars, especially Humayun Saeed, describing him as highly professional and energetic. “Even though we had never worked together before, I always felt we would pair well,” she noted.
Admiration for Fellow Artists
Sanam praised veteran actors like Saima Noor and Nadeem Baig, calling them industry pillars, and lauded Sajal Aly for her professionalism and kindness. “Sajal uplifts those around her while staying completely focused on her craft,” Sanam remarked.
Sensitive Storyline and Audience Impact
The drama explores a complex narrative of love between a teacher and student, a theme Sanam believes must be handled with care. “Audiences take these portrayals seriously, so it’s important to raise awareness and avoid normalizing problematic dynamics,” she stressed.
A New Chapter in Her Career
For Sanam, the project is not only a professional milestone but also a personal one, marking her comeback to television as she embraced motherhood. Known for standout performances in Zindagi Gulzar Hai, Cake, and Qatil Haseenaon Ke Naam, she expressed excitement about taking on more meaningful roles in the future.
