Acclaimed Pakistani actor Humayun Saeed has made a striking revelation, claiming he’s not just playing a ‘love guru’ in his latest film, Love Guru, but that he embodies the role in real life too. Saeed made this confession during a promotional interview alongside co-star Mahira Khan.
The pair, appearing on Waseem Badami’s show, shared candid insights about working together again after a long hiatus of ten years. Saeed addressed rumors of any potential tension between them, stating clearly that there was none. In fact, he said he had repeatedly offered Mahira roles in his films, including hits like Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2, Punjab Nahi Jaungi, and London Nahi Jaunga. Mahira had consistently declined these offers.
Mahira Khan elaborated that she prefers more serious and dramatic roles over ‘masala’ or comedic films, which explained her earlier refusals. Saeed respected her choices, acknowledging that everyone has a distinct artistic path.
When asked by the host why Pakistan’s film industry sees relatively few productions, Saeed pointed out the high cost of filmmaking and the cautious attitude of investors. Filmmakers often wait to see how others’ films perform before taking the plunge themselves, a practice that ultimately stifles the industry’s growth.
The highlight of the interview came when Waseem Badami probed Saeed about the term ‘love guru.’ Humayun explained that a love guru is someone who provides valuable guidance to those navigating the complex world of relationships. He shared that, even off-camera, he often finds himself playing matchmaker and love advisor among his friends.
Saeed’s perspective on love is refreshingly candid. “Love can happen multiple times in life,” he said. “But it should only be with one person at a time. Otherwise, it’s just a misadventure, not love.”
This interview offered fans a rare glimpse into Saeed’s personal philosophy on love and his natural ease with giving relationship advice—a true love guru both on and off the screen.
