Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha has revealed that she and her husband Zaheer Iqbal bought their Mumbai home well before they tied the knot. The revelation came through her latest YouTube vlog, where the couple gave fans an inside look at their nearly completed residence, offering glimpses of its elegant interiors and personal design touches.
In the video, Sonakshi walks viewers through the spacious apartment, showcasing the living room, kitchen, and several cozy corners of the home. She shared that the couple had been working on the renovation for almost nine months and were finally in the final stages of completing their dream home.
Sonakshi said the decision to purchase the property came before their wedding, as both wanted to start their life together in a place that felt like “their own.” Zaheer added more context, explaining that the process had begun long before the marriage. “We had started looking for the perfect place quite some time back. We decided to begin renovations only after getting married,” he revealed.
The actor also mentioned that they found their interior designer just ten days before the wedding. “She had already worked on six flats in the same building, so we trusted her instantly,” Zaheer shared. He credited the designers and contractors for completing the work in record time while ensuring every detail matched their preferences.
Adding a touch of humor, Zaheer spoke about his own quirky design ideas, saying, “I always wanted a basin where water falls perfectly in the middle without having to touch the tap again,” and furniture “strong enough for anyone to dance on.” Laughing at his comments, Sonakshi Sinha said she preferred a minimal and modern look for their space, choosing a clean white palette to reflect simplicity, openness, and calmness.
The couple, who had been together for nearly seven years before getting married, met at a party hosted by Salman Khan. Zaheer made his acting debut in Notebook (2019), produced by Salman, while Sonakshi later starred opposite him in Double XL (2022) and the hit music video Blockbuster.
Sonakshi and Zaheer officially got married on June 23 last year in an intimate home ceremony attended by close family and friends. Later that evening, they hosted a glamorous reception for industry colleagues, including Rekha, Vidya Balan, Tabu, Anil Kapoor, and Aditya Roy Kapur.
